Amanti String Program

 

The Amanti Strings were formed in 2009 through the generous gift of Mrs. Joan Amanti. Mrs. Amanti was a long time volunteer at Calusa Elementary and loved spending time helping the students. Mrs. Amanti expressed a desire to share her love of music with the children by funding the start of a violin program. We started with a few violins, and expanded our collection that now also includes a cello. 

 

The debut of the Amanti Strings was December 2009 at our winter concert. It was wonderful to have Mrs. Amanti attend to see the group's premiere and realize her dream of a string program at our school. Mrs. Amanti passed away soon after this performance and generously remembered Calusa and the music program. Through the gift of the Amanti funds, our music program has grown. The Amanti Strings have expanded and The Amanti Orff program began in 2013. The continuation of these groups is a tribute to the dedication and commitment Mrs. Amanti gave to our school and students.

 

The Amanti String Program is open for enrollment to 4th and 5th grade students. Students are required to commit to the program for the entire year and perform at all scheduled concerts and performances as they may arise. Regular at home rehearsal is required, along with expectations of perserverance and dedication to the program.
